Join us on ‘A Walk to Remember’ where guests can immerse themselves in the timeless tales of Hannibal. With an Expeditions guide, they will dive into the vibrant pulse of Main Street, soaking in tales of the town’s storied past. Our knowledgeable guides will escort them by the historical storefronts and iconic landmarks of Main Street, each story representing a chapter in Hannibal’s captivating narrative. Guests will have 20 minutes to browse and shop at the 10 most frequented locally owned establishments. At the end of the tour, guests will indulge in a warm welcome at Java Jive, a popular local retreat. Here they will be greeted with cozy ambiance and the bustle of life as we treat them to a complimentary dinner prepared by our very own Java Jive team. The adventure concludes with an engaging 30-minute Q&A session by the river with their Expeditions guide, reflecting on the new insights they have gained about Hannibal, making it truly a walk to remember.

Take part in an enchanting journey down Hannibal’s historic riverfront and historic Main Street as you dive into “Sweet Escape: Confections of a Rivertown.” This delightful walking tour weaves together fascinating tales and fun facts about Hannibal’s rich culinary heritage. Guests will be visiting five local confectionery treasures. Each stop offers a unique taste of Hannibal’s sweet delights, showcasing why this charming town is a haven for food lovers. From freshly made fudge to delectable gelato, indulge in the flavors that make Hannibal a standout destination for those seeking a sweet escape.

Key Features include:

• Clemens General Store for a fudge demonstration and samples
• Mississippi Market Place for a Chocolate Gravy demonstration and samples
• Java Jive for a baked good and a small coffee
• The Brick Oven for a cannoli and a tasting of Italian wine
• Chocolaterie Stam for a small Gelato and a small gourmet popcorn

The Sweet Escape tour can also be extended to include an extra stop. The tour will conclude at the residence of the late Laura Hawkins, famously known as the inspiration for Becky Thatcher from Mark Twain’s celebrated work, Tom Sawyer. This exclusive experience includes a Victorian tea party within Laura’s Secret Tea Garden which is located behind the residence and provides a tranquil backdrop for the end of the tour. Guests will be treated to an insightful presentation about Laura Hawkins, while enjoying freshly brewed tea and locally made pastries and breads. Following the tea party, visitors can leisurely tour Laura’s home, gaining intimate knowledge of her life and the rich history of the residence.

This upgrade will adjust the price to $98 per guest and would add an additional 2 hours to the duration.
